As Co-Founder and Technical Director, Joel sets the technical direction behind JFDI’s modernisation, migration and application delivery work. Over more than 25 years, he has helped organisations turn tangled business requirements into systems that stand up in the real world, with deep roots in SharePoint, Microsoft 365 and the Power Platform, and a habit of explaining hard problems in plain language.
His focus today is agentic software engineering: AI agents that help design, build and ship software at pace, with the automated quality gates, security checks and human review that enterprises depend on. It is the discipline behind Locodium, the AI-native low-code platform Joel created for building governed business applications fast, and behind the hands-on course he runs to help engineering teams adopt the same techniques with confidence.
The tooling has changed beyond recognition since he started. The principle has not: clarity, structure and pace, without cutting corners.

Jon Silver
Co-Founder | R&D Director
A lifelong inventor and engineer, Jon is also a proven communicator, having been a freelance writer since 1989, including as a Contributing Editor and Database Columnist for PC Pro Magazine.
He’s a specialist in several subject areas, including agentic software engineering, UX design and several physical engineering disciplines. Jon has created business systems for over 40 years and provided consultancy for almost as long, so there are few business problems he hasn’t seen and solved; and he’s seen every technology revolution arrive, over-promise, and then either become useful or slip away.
That long view is exactly why JFDI is so good at agentic engineering. Jon was automating business processes decades before “AI agent” was a phrase, and he knows that you can’t automate a broken process. Engineering discipline has never been so important, and agentic code has to be architected, shaped, guided, tested, and understood more than most. He was an early adopter of AI, and uses agentic tools every day - not to follow the fashion, but to attain the greatest speed and the best possible results.

Ian is a Microsoft Certified educator with a solid track record of confidently presenting SharePoint concepts. He instils that same confidence in his trainees, making him the ideal person to develop your in-house team.
As a consultant at JFDI, Ian has years of real-world experience solving all architectural, operational, and development-related SharePoint problems, improving both corporate and small business sites.

He started as Java Developer, moved on to JQuery UI development to IBM WCM administrator/developer, then to SharePoint/Azure developer, and then to AWS full-stack development.
He has experience in large enterprises and has helped solve many of the challenges such organisations might face during their digital transformation and thrive on solving more. Austin has a breadth of skills in many different development environments and administration roles.
Stephen Burns
Software Developer | Azure Development Team
Stephen started as a developer in the Azure/SharePoint Online space creating ARM templates, YAML pipelines and PowerShell scripting for deployments — primarily ops focused, then moved to develop frontend web part solutions for SharePoint Online using React / Typescript / SPFX and Flow with automated testing using Selenium / Jest and Cucumber.
Experience migrating an SPFX solution to a standalone Next.js / Node.js application that used Graph for Azure-related calls.
Karan Thomason
